In 1977, David Taft and Rick McClymont established Britco Structures, a Canadian partnership that is now the largest designer and manufacturer of custom-built mobile & modular buildings in the Pacific Northwest and consists of:

Britco Structures LLP - Custom-design Modular Buildings
Britco Leasing Ltd - Fleet Rentals and Sales

Starting in January 1977 with a handful of employees, Britco's first project was the relocation of several buildings in the remote town of Port Simpson, BC. The first plant opened in May 1977, a 10,000 sf factory in Langley BC, and by June the first Britco buildings were completed - two 8' x 16' mobile government lab trailers that were shipped to Whitehorse, Yukon.

In 1979, Britco expanded into the rental market with a small lease fleet and relocated to a 30,000 sf production and administration facility. Steady growth in the business prompted the expansion of the factory to 40,000 sf in 1980. In 1988, Britco took over a 92,000 sf factory in Agassiz, BC from a mobile home manufacturer and expanded to 102,000 sf in 2008.

As the demand for Britco's products increased, the company expanded into new markets. In 1993, a satellite office was opened in Nanaimo, BC followed with a sales office in Edmonton, AB in 1998 and a sales/leasing office in Kelowna in 2003.

In March 2005, a second manufacturing plant was purchased to meet the increasing demand, particularly for customdesigned workforce housing. The facility in Penticton, BC provides 80,000 sf of additional manufacturing space and produces industrial and commercial buildings for customers around the globe with the majority of production going to customers within BC and Alberta.

Britco Structures leads the industry in the innovative application of factory building technology to an increasing variety of building types that were traditionally built on site. Involvement in a project can be as simple as the supplier of modular space to that of a full-service provider of design-build services incorporating architectural, engineering, project management and site services.

Britco Leasing provides affordable quality, flexibility & convenience for business and industry including the construction, resource, commercial, institutional and retail sectors. Much more than just office trailers or portables, Britco Leasing has the largest rental fleet of new and quality used buildings in BC, available in a variety of sizes and floorplans for delivery and installation anywhere in British Columbia.

Experienced in the design, manufacture, transport and installation of a wide variety of buildings and projects around the world, the Britco team specializes in workforce housing, office complexes, daycares, schools & classrooms, multi-family and seniors' housing.
