Adjoining the front of an existing 2-storey hotel and facing onto a major thoroughfare with buildings on either side, this 4-storey addition was designed for a site with extreme project-staging space limitations. “Just-in-time” delivery of the modules was planned to allow for immediate installation on site. A non-combustible, two-hour rated firewall was built in-factory and the elevator shaft and stairwells were built into the modules at the plant.

In addition to its location on a busy street, the hotel is located in close proximity to the airport, so soundproofing was a major challenge for Britco’s design team. Britco’s innovatiave modular approach to the building design provided increased sound insulation and ensured that Travelodge’s unique requirements were met.
