Building Stronger Communities

At Britco, we recognize that our actions today play an important role in building healthy and thriving communities tomorrow. As our business has grown and expanded in British Columbia, across Canada and around the world, we have maintained a commitment to building strong communities here at home.

Through our Building Stronger Communities initiative, Britco is proud to continue the tradition of giving back to the community which began with the founding of the Company in 1977. By supporting organizations today that focus on youth, education and health, our goal is to help build a strong foundation for dynamic and vibrant communities.

As part of our Building Stronger Communities initiative Britco has established the Britco Scholarship Program, because when we invest in young people, we open the door to limitless possibilities and opportunities for our future.

Britco has partnered with school districts located in areas where Britco operates to provide scholarships for students based on financial need, leadership, academic achievement, and community involvement.

  1. In Langley, Britco has a partnership with the Langley School District Foundation to award scholarships to three students.
  2. In Penticton, Britco is working with the Penticton Schools Bursary and Scholarship Foundation and will award scholarships to two students.
  3. In Agassiz, Britco will be awarding a scholarship to a graduate of Agassiz Elementary Secondary School.

The establishment of the Britco Scholarship Program compliments our partnership with Indspire, formerly the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation. Through its partnership with Indspire, Britco will be providing three scholarships to support First Nations high school students in British Columbia who are pursuing post-secondary studies. Preference will be given to those First Nation student applicants who live in areas where Britco has operations. www.indspire.ca

Official Supplier of the Canadian Olympic Team

Britco is very proud to be an Official Supplier of the Canadian Olympic Team and the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC). The COC is a national, private, not-for-profit organization committed to sport excellence. It is responsible for all aspects of Canada's involvement in the Olympic Movement, including Canada's participation in the Olympic and Pan American Games and a wide variety of programs that promote the Olympic Movement in Canada through cultural and educational programs.

The COC Olympic has established core values to remind athletes and their supporters that the life skills and experience obtained through athletic preparation, competition and teamwork are far more valuable than any medal ever awarded – excellence, fun, fairness, respect, human development, leadership, and peace.

Britco's relationship with the COC started when Britco was an Official Supplier of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. The opportunity to design and build accommodations for athletes from around the world competing in Vancouver and to showcase the innovative functionality of modular construction through our Olympic Legacy Housing facilities, was a very special and unique achievement for all of us at Britco.
